I gobbled up “Lord Fenton’s Folly” and can’t wait to read more by Josi S. Kilpack. A love story planted in the years of innocent youth, Lord Fenton and Alice Stanbridge continue to cross paths until suddenly, London’s sought-after dandy is pursuing her hand.

All is not what it seems, however/5(). Lord Fenton's Folly is a beautifully written book by an amazing author. Josi has taken the regency romance genre and ran with it.

There were so many scenes in this book that either had me laughing or crying. The last few chapters were so incredible, I went back and re-read them/5. When Alice learns that Lord Fentons folly book is not only an unwanted wife, but a demanded one, however, she closes her heart.

Only when Lord Fenton faces the greatest trial of his life does he begin to find love beyond the folly. Could a great love come from a beginning such as this.

Book on CD: unabridged, 8 discs, approx. hours, performed by Cassandra Campbell/5(23). Lord Fenton is a gambler, a dandy, and a flirt—and he must marry or else he will be disinherited, stripped of his wealth and his position.

Kilpack is the second book in her Proper Romance Series. I haven't read the first book, therefore can definitely say that this book can be read easily as a stand alone one.

The story revolves around Lord Charles Fenton. He portrays himself as a 'dandy', a 'fop'/5(80). The character growth, especially with Lord Fenton, was great to see. Many of the twists I didn't see coming, but loved how they played into the storyline.

There was a little bit more talk of controlling passions than I personally like, but it was still a clean, proper romance that anyone who enjoys a good love story will enjoy.

Lord Fenton is a gambler and a dandy, and he will be stripped of his wealth and position unless he rises to his responsibility - one of which is to marry. Far from being a giddy groom, Fenton chooses the unobjectionable Alice Stanbridge simply because he knew her as a young girl, and his mother feels Alice would make a good wife.

Kilpack's Proper Romance series, captured the Regency period well. With interesting plot developments and family dynamics as well as the author's easy writing style it was hard not be pulled into this story. The hero and heroine were at times a bit exasperating but still managed to win you over by.

The male lead in this book is referred to as a dandy. You don't really hear that as a descriptor these days. "A man unduly devoted to style, neatness, and fashion in dress and appearance." Um, why don't we use this word anymore. Love it. What's it About.
